Hey fellow founder, I'm Sachintha. I started teaching myself web development at 21, with no professional skills, no degree, and no connections. I had just a Pentium 4 computer and a dial-up internet connection. With no formal instruction, I learned by reading PDFs, building personal projects, automating my own tasks, and trying things out.
I later studied computer science formally while already running my business. I wanted to properly understand the theory behind what I'd taught myself through practice.
At 28, I was selected by the 🇺🇸 U.S. State Department for the Professional Fellows Program, hosted through the University of Oklahoma. I was one of six Sri Lankan founders in that batch and one of 22 participants from South Asia in the cohort. I was genuinely humbled to be selected.
My work has covered pharmaceuticals, tourism, automation, ecommerce, and other sectors. The business began as my solo freelance work. Today, there's a team behind it, and their work is very much part of what the business has become.
That's where I'm coming from. What's your story?
